The last schooner built with hand tools
Launched in 1969, the Friendship Rose is the last Bequia schooner built entirely with hand tools. Before the arrival of motor ferries, she provided the vital link between St. Vincent and Bequia for decades, transporting supplies, mail, and passengers. She is one of the last remaining active vessels of traditional Grenadines coastal shipping.
Retired from postal and freight service, she was converted into a day-trip sailing yacht. Purchased in 2004, she was fitted with a bowsprit and a deepened keel. She still sails from Bequia to the Tobago Cays.
