August 2023: A filmed launch at Windward

During the 2023 Carriacou Regatta, the launch of Power Surge in Windward was filmed. On August 6, 2023, a visitor shared the video in a Carriacou Facebook group, under the title "Carriacou Regatta Boat Launch Drama & Beauty of Power Surge for Latest Annual Race".

She recounts witnessing a traditional launch for the regatta live and describes it as a truly unique experience. The video is no longer available on YouTube, so it's unclear whether it involved a new boat or a relaunch.

Carriacou Regatta 2023: Third from Windward to Hillsborough

On August 5, 2023, Power Surge will start the island tour with Glacier and Power Play, the two other boats of Benson Patrice.

The following day, during the race of large and small decked sloops between Windward and Hillsborough, Power Surge finished third, behind Glacier and Windward Pride.

What remains to be found

The year of construction, the shipwright, the length, and the fate of the boat after Hurricane Beryl in July 2024 remain unknown. Any information or photographs that could complete this record are welcome.
