Power Play belongs to Benson Patrice, a shipwright from Windward whom everyone in the village calls "Power." In 2023, Caribbean Compass reported that Benson owned three sloops: Power Surge, Power Play, and Glacier. Two of these boats were named after their owner's nickname.

August 5, 2023: on the island tour
At the 2023 Carriacou Regatta, Power Play will be competing in the island tour, the regatta's premier race, alongside Glacier and Power Surge., Marie Stella, Margetto-02, Windward Pride, Small Pin, Beauty of Petite Martinique and BM2.
During the race, the Discover Carriacou and Petite Martinique page announced the three leading boats: Windward Pride, Power Play, and Glacier. Windward Pride ultimately won the race, finishing eleven minutes ahead of Glacier.
July 2024: victim of Hurricane Beryl
On July 1, 2024, Hurricane Beryl struck Carriacou. On July 12, The Grenada Informer newspaper announced that the Carriacou Regatta Festival would most likely be canceled, as several large decked sloops had been severely damaged or destroyed.
One of the premiere crafts which has been around and ruled the festival for years, Marie Stella, has been destroyed by the Hurricane. Another is that of the Power Play.

The newspaper lists Power Play right after Marie Stella among the great sloops lost. Windward Pride's mast is broken.
What remains to be found
The year of construction, the shipwright, the length, and the boat's history prior to 2023 remain unknown. Any information or photographs that could complete this record are welcome.
