l\u2019honneur les \u201cCarriacou sloops\u201d, ces embarcations antillaises traditionnelles, construites enti\u00e8rement en bois et fa\u00e7onn\u00e9es \u00e0 la main sur les plages de Carriacou et de Petite Martinique.<\/p>\n\n<p>Ces bateaux uniques sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9s selon des techniques transmises de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration en g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, t\u00e9moignant d\u2019un savoir-faire maritime exceptionnel.<\/p>\n\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, il ne reste plus qu\u2019une dizaine de ces sloops encore navigables, faisant d\u2019eux de v\u00e9ritables symboles du patrimoine carib\u00e9en.<\/p>\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de la r\u00e9gate, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement joue un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la pr\u00e9servation de cet h\u00e9ritage, notamment \u00e0 travers des initiatives majeures comme la construction du dernier sloop \u201cFree in Saint Barth\u201d en 2015, la r\u00e9alisation du film <em>Vanishing Sail<\/em> en 2015, ou encore leur inscription au patrimoine culturel immat\u00e9riel de l\u2019humanit\u00e9 par l\u2019UNESCO en 2023.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-65960d8 elementor-widget Regatta d\u2019Antigua. Ce choix permet aux bateaux venant de loin, notamment de Carriacou, de participer aux deux \u00e9v\u00e9nements sans contrainte.<\/p>\n\n<p>Aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des embl\u00e9matiques Carriacou sloops, on retrouve \u00e9galement d\u2019autres bateaux classiques en bois, souvent venus d\u2019Europe ou des \u00c9tats-Unis, qui font escale dans les Cara\u00efbes avant leur travers\u00e9e retour.<\/p>\n\n<p>La r\u00e9gate est ouverte \u00e0 tous les passionn\u00e9s de navigation traditionnelle, dans un esprit \u00e0 la fois sportif, convivial et profond\u00e9ment ancr\u00e9 dans la culture maritime des \u00eeles.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le parcours volontairement simple laisse place \u00e0 des moments uniques, notamment les d\u00e9jeuners en mer du samedi et du dimanche, o\u00f9 les bateaux une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 la mer reliait les \u00eeles bien avant de les s\u00e9parer.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00c0 cette \u00e9poque, les bateaux traditionnels naviguaient d\u2019\u00eele en \u00eele pour transporter nourriture, \u00e9pices, fruits, rhum et objets artisanaux, cr\u00e9ant un v\u00e9ritable r\u00e9seau de vie et d\u2019\u00e9changes entre les territoires.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00c0 chaque arriv\u00e9e dans un port, les quais s\u2019animaient naturellement : les marchandises \u00e9taient \u00e9chang\u00e9es, un march\u00e9 improvis\u00e9 prenait forme, et la musique accompagnait ces moments de rencontre.<\/p>\n\n<p>La West Indies Regatta cherche \u00e0 recr\u00e9er cette ambiance chaleureuse et authentique, o\u00f9 la mer, le commerce et la culture se m\u00ealent pour faire Saint-Barth\u00e9lemy.<\/p>\n\n<p>Une quarantaine d\u2019exposants y participent, certains venant des \u00eeles voisines, d\u2019autres \u00e9tant originaires de Saint-Barth, cr\u00e9ant un m\u00e9lange unique de cultures et de traditions.<\/p>\n\n<p>On y d\u00e9couvre une grande diversit\u00e9 de produits : fruits et l\u00e9gumes tropicaux, plantes, produits agricoles, objets artisanaux en bois, poterie, c\u00e9ramique, v\u00eatements, bijoux ainsi que de nombreux stands de cuisine locale.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le march\u00e9 recr\u00e9e l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re des anciens ports carib\u00e9ens, arts de rue.<\/p>\n\n<p>Une compagnie intervient dans les \u00e9coles durant la semaine pr\u00e9c\u00e9dant l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement, proposant aux enfants des ateliers pour les initier \u00e0 ces disciplines et partager leur passion.<\/p>\n\n<p>Ces artistes animent ensuite certains soirs du march\u00e9, avant de cl\u00f4turer le week-end par un spectacle final le dimanche soir.<\/p>\n\n<p>Cette approche renforce le lien entre le festival et la communaut\u00e9 locale, en faisant de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement un moment de transmission, de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et de
